Deck Templates

Just to avoid disasters I decided to cut deck templates before starting with the real material.

I created all 4 pieces by using two cheap 4x8 sheets 1/4 thick.

The outline was traced by laying the sheet on the boat. I added about 1/2 inch on all sides. The plan is to sand the overlap down with a belt sander.

These guiding lines will have to line up with the pattern of the real deck. They also give me guidance on how the wood is aligned based on the center line of the boat.

I added this board spacer later. The curve of the deck is so sever that I believe it cannot be bend. So I decided to but a flat section under the deck board about 6 inches wide.
