New Mast DONE!
After sanding, some finishing and a couple of clear coats the mast is done.Sanded Round
The mast is now sanded into a round post. A last measurement test using the mast ring for the deck checks the size.
Peak/Throat Halyard Sheave
Say what? So this is where the pulleys will go to hoist the sail and gaff.
The Pulleys
I will use the old pulleys but with a new brass bearing. The bolts will hold the whole thing in place nicely.
Clear Coat...
A couple of layer of clear coat are applied. I used "Schooner" from Interlux.
Scarf Lines
Now the scarf joints look very nice on the round mast. They are almost not visible where the colors match.
