Wooden Sailboat Blog

“Welcome to my sailboat restoration blog.”

Bow Support

In this little "triangle" the front stay will be anchored.

Rouch Cut

I created the rough shape by tracing the outlines of the bow shape on a 1 inch board. The cuts were made on the table saw with the correct angle for the hull.

Marking in Place

In order to align correctly in height for the deck I mounted the piece in place. Then marked the outlines and the "do-not-sand-leave-flat" section.

Sanded and Mounted

After sanding it down I mounted it through the planks with stainless screws. It will be "epoxied" in place at a later date.
