The Boat Arrives

From Canada to Michigan, from Michigan to North Carolina... The boat finds its way into my garage.

Packed up from Michigan

The boat arrives on a trailer. Shrink wrapped from Michigan.

Based on some research this boat was built around 1930. It is a 14 feet long cat boat build for lake sailing by Aykroyd, Toronto.

The boat is primarily built from Cedar. The ribs are oak. The deck was most likely covered with canvas. The centerboard is SOLID STEEL.

The shape it is in...

Hmmmmm.... Thanks to my father in-law the transom is replaced. But otherwise we got some issues. But I guess that is why I started in the 1st place.

The Deck...

Needs to be rebuilt completely. I have some good plans for it too.
